The 11th Annual Downtown car and bike show known as Sizzlin' Summer Nights is coming! This has become a popular event for the region as it supports 12,000 spectators make this event the largest car and bike show in the NE region of SD. An average of 300 cars and 150 bikes annually lined the streets of Downtown Aberdeen from a 3 state region.

Due to Main Street undergoing a new streetscape which is taking place now, the Show has been moved 1 block west to 1st Street for 2010 only.

Weekend Schedule:

Saturday 28th:

1-2 pm: "Paid Reserve" Parking allowed into show area - reserved fee is $20 per space.

3pm: General Parking (Free) escorted into show area from North Main. Vehicles will be parked on 1st Street, Avenues, and adjacent parking lots along 1st Street.

4:00pm: Bikers meet at Melgaard Park

4:30 pm: Bikers escorted into event from 1st Ave W. Bikers parking space is on 1st Ave - north side in front of the Brown County Courthouse.

9 pm: Raffle Drawing! See above banner for more info.

9:10 pm: Organized exit

9 pm: Beer Garden Opens / Free streetdance begins with band "Vermillion"

12 am - Close for evening.

Sunday, August 29th:

9 am - Food vendors open

10 am - Non-denominational church service

12 pm - Bug Run

1 pm - Event closes for 2010

Special Feature: Dakota Classic Golf Tournament

Show area: 1st Street between 6th Ave and Rail Road Avenue. No parking will be allowed on 1st Street after 8 am. Cars will be towed in preparation for the show.

Participants: Anyone wishing to be a participant is welcome and general parking is free. To enter the show area, drivers need to come in from North Main, west on RR Avenue, then south onto 1st Street. Free, general parking participants are not allowed to park in show area before 3 pm. Volunteers will be on hand to guide the drivers to their parking places. There is no fee unless you want to reserve a parking spot which grants you access to the event area early and parking on the west side of the street. Reserved parking info below.

Reserved (fee) parking spaces will be sold to those who want early entrance into the show area for $20. No reserved parking spaces will be sold after Friday, August 20th. Those who have purchased a parking space must come onto 1st Street from east 1st Ave between 1 and 2 pm only—parking spaces will be released to the general public for free parking at 3 pm. No refunds, no subletting space, no commercial enterprises (no dealerships), no ‘for sale’ vehicles. Reserved parking spaces will go on sale July 26th until August 20th. Food: One food court will be available to satisfy any cravings. The food court will be located in the parking lot on 1st Street between 4th and 5th Ave. Picnic tables will be set up, along with portable bathrooms for show goers' convenience. There is something for everyone's taste!

Free Street Dance/Beer Garden: The public is invited to attend. At 9pm, the beer garden will open and ‘Vermillion’ will take the stage to entertain. This high energy band will appeal to all ages and fans of classic rock, rock, country and Americana musical genres.

Parade: There will be no parade. An orderly exit will take place at 9 pm following the raffle winner announcement. Drivers will be escorted out of the event.

Motorcycles: The motorcycles will be located by Mazatlan on 1st Street. If motorcycles want to come in as a group, they need to meet at Melgaard Park at/before 4:30 pm to be escorted by the police with the escort leaving at 4:30 pm.

Info Booth: Official 11th Annual Sizzlin Summer Night t-shirts will be sold as well as previous years shirts. The info booth will be located near the food court on 1st Street between 4th and 5th Avenue.

NO "For Sale" Signs

NO Dogs, bikes, rollerblades or skateboards allowed in the show area

Once you are parked, vehicles are not to be moved until the organized exit
